Gulf Islands

The Southern Gulf Islands are located off the West Coast of Canada, in the Strait of Georgia between southern Vancouver Island and the British Columbia mainland. The Gulf Islands are eight hours behind Universal Time (GMT).

The Southern Gulf Islands (including the largest & best serviced island, Salt Spring Island) enjoy a microclimate known as "cool Mediterranean".

B.C. Ferries service several of the main islands, as do several different float plane companies.    Salt Spring enjoys year round ferry & float plane scheduling.

Salt Spring's amenities include three ferries, three floatplane companies, all with regularly scheduled runs, a transit bus system, a hospital, all services, theatre, golf, etc.

Vineyard tours, artist studio tours, hiking/walking trails, sea kayaking, lake fishing, ocean fishing, sailing, theater and film experiences, gallery visiting, Saturday Market in the Park, restaurants, local cheese makers...the list goes on.
